The pain you are in and the impact this loss has on your life is unique. Grief looks different for everyone. We hope we can journey with you on your grief journey and offer a supportive ear along the way. We will sit with you during your darkest times and support you to find a way to integrate these losses into your life.
Stress
Tracy Larson studied with the Canadian Institute of Stress and earned a certification in Stress and Wellness. She, as well as our other counsellors, can help you to figure out what gives you satisfaction in life and what creates stress.
Stress can come from many different areas of our lives such as work, relationships, and life transitions.
Work and Career Issues
Most of us spend more time at work than at home, therefore the workplace should be an environment where we feel safe and comfortable. However, because work is where a bunch of different personalities, communication styles, and worldviews gather around, things don’t always go smoothly.
Anxiety
The HML Teams are experts at using a variety of therapeutic approaches to help you manage your anxiety or fears. We understand how living in a state of anxiety impacts your life, your health, your relationships, etc. We use cognitive behavioral therapy and other approaches to help you explore your thinking patterns and how they are impacting your emotions and your actions.
Depression
We've worked with individuals experiencing depression for several years. We understand the deep pain that you may be experiencing, the numbness or flatness that overshadows your life and the lack of joy. We realize that depression may manifest in physical symptoms such as chronic pain, sleeping too much, low energy, low motivation and more. Most importantly, we can help.
Life Transition
Maybe you're feeling confused, or distressed and are not sure how to handle the emotional highs and lows.
Chances are you are asking the question - 'What next?' We can help.
Couples Therapy
Factors of everyday life can put an abundant strain on a relationship. Severe stressors may include resentment, infidelity, intimacy issues, lack of trust, and miscommunication.
Communicating effectively on both parts can alleviate emotional anxiety from subjects of all kind.
Chronic Pain and Illness
Chronic pain and illness can be related to depression, anxiety, and past adverse experiences. It can feel overwhelming to think about getting by in life while dealing with chronic pain or illness, regardless of whether that pain or illness is new or old. Our counsellors are equipped to help you develop healthy coping strategies. By learning to live a balanced life, you may even see your pain subside.
Self Esteem
We recognize how debilitating feelings of low self-esteem can be to you. We can help you to decrease those negative thoughts that tell you you are not good enough, smart enough, attractive enough etc. Our team uses deep empathy and other effective methods to help you realize your strengths and boost your self-esteem.
Sleep Issues
We can help you to improve your sleep quality and duration so that you are able to enjoy better health. We use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I) to help plus other effective strategies. CBT-I is a proven therapy to help you improve your sleep quality; Let's go beyond basic hygiene to help you to figure out what is at the root of your sleepless nights.
Post-Concussion Syndrome
Post-Concussion Syndrome and the associated psychological impact (e.g. anxiety, depression, trauma, grief etc.). Maybe you've been in a motor vehicle accident or sustained a work related injury and are trying to put your life back together? We can help.
Children & Youth
We help kids 12 and up work through their concerns in a supportive environment
We used techniques like Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) to help young people build skills to help them throughout their lives.
Virtual Therapy
Virtual therapy, also known as teletherapy or online therapy, is a type of mental health treatment that is provided over the internet using video conference software. It can also be done via phone.
